Home: Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

The purpose of FLARA is to:

  • Increase and advance the civic betterment and general welfare of Fish Lake;

  • Create the spirit of goodwill and friendliness between the lake homeowners and the local community; and

  • Preserve the vitality and environmental health of this beautiful Maple Grove lake.

FLARA:

  • Supports diverse usage of the lake

  • Provides educational materials on how to keep the lake clean;

  • Helps to educate users to promote safe usage of the lake;

  • Acts as a liaison with Three Rivers Park District and the city of Maple Grove

 

FLARA is proactive in sounding its members’ concerns to the Department of Natural Resources, local law enforcement, the Hennepin County Park System, and the Lake Quality Commission, which is a 15-member committee that reports to the Maple Grove City Council.

 

FLARA is not engaged in regulatory matters concerning any aspects of the use of Fish Lake.  Any questions or concerns regarding the regulations or usage of Fish Lake can be directed to the Minnesota DNR, the City of Maple Grove, or the Hennepin County Water Patrol.
